Hello there and Welcome!!!!

Thank you for stopping by Made at Home Quilts …and then some!!!  My name is Desiree Kuemmerle and I am the Owner/Designer of Made at Home Quilts …and then some!!!  Many years ago my mother took me to a quilt shop to appease her own interest, and from that moment I was hooked.  The way the colors were arranged in the shop, the quilts that were displayed and hung on the shop walls and the conversations everyone shared while in the shop peaked my curiosity to a level, that from there I went to Joann’s and purchased my very first sewing machine.  Since then I have not stopped sewing…

Made at Home Quilts …and then some!!! designs quilts (how I got started), personal accessories, clothing and seasonal home décor.  I have been with my husband just over 15 years and without him I know I would not have taken this journey to open my shop to the world. 

It was not until April 2014, I decided to listen to family and friends, and their pleas for me to get my products up on the internet.  Just prior to this time I was associated with a local knitting shop in my area that had approached me to design and create a Project and Notion Carrier specifically for their shop.  At this time I only created those types of crazy designs for myself, as it served my need of wanting it now and I did not have to search for it. I enjoyed working with them through the designing phase to the final products.  Here I learned the business end, customer serve and what my first priority is to be.  That is my customers will always receive a unique handcrafted product that will last them a lifetime and beyond.

And the creation of …and then some!!! developed.
